Taq-e-Bostan

The Sasanian reliefs at Taq-e-Bostan, near Kermanshah, include exquisite carvings of hunting and royal investiture. Probably carved during the reign of Khusrau II (r. 593-628 C.E.), the deep archway, or iwan, is flanked by panels depicting the king, accompanied by a large entourage, hunting stags and boars.
